Boudoir Photography      Glamour Shots     Lingerie Photography

The three terms are often used nearly interchangeably and are confusing to everyone.  Boudoir is a French word for bedroom so maybe the implication is that there will be a bit more sultry, sexy theme.  Glamour is often just a really perfect hair and makeup session with shots taken that are mostly head and shoulders.  Lingerie sessions would be more like boudoir, but any less sexually suggestive .  Think boudoir more like Playboy, lingerie more like Victoria's secrets photos.  Marianne and I prefer the four levels that I would describe as:

Elegant:

The glamour shot.  Beautiful hair makeup and nails for the best portrait you have ever had taken.  Full length in a slinky dress or closeup of alluring eyes and mouth.

Pinup:

Fun an Flirty.  Think about the great pinup shots of the 50's.  Stylized in the fashion of that era.

Provocative:

Partial to full nudity, coverage to a minimum but always tasteful.  More of a sensual emphasis

Dark Desires:

Limited only by your comfort zone, everything from handcuffs to riding crops have figured into these shots.  All done with the ultimate of privacy.  Generally in fulfillment of a special someone's fantasy.

I always promise that an Elegant or Pinup session will not give your mother a heart attack.  Maybe a little chest pain, but no coronary.  "Provocative" and "Dark Desires" might be a bit more dangerous.....
This is not to say that a session has to follow only one path.  Generally we start with the Elegant and work our way to the limits of your comfort.  Much like swimming, you don't go into deeper water than you are comfortable with.



Boudoir sessions are more expensive than a standard portrait session.  We do far more retouching and perfecting of the images, so the post production time is substantial.  It is all about the fantasy, so we make the images as perfect as they can be.  In these shots, you need to feel like you are being seen through loving eyes.  A good boudoir shot is like a dream, a little soft around the edges and as beautiful as they can be.

Marianne also has a collection of fun shoes, corsets, props, and will let you choose from her collection.  These sessions generate a lot of laundry for us, but they are so much fun.

A two hour session will be $225.  You will have 30 or more images to choose from.  We have a number of packages for products that make the perfect gift.  I consider it our specialty.
